DIY For Making Cards With The Oval Custom Cutting System

I’ve been playing with ovals today. I would like to share this how to on the making of this A2 size card. The A2 size is actually an 8 1/2 “ x 11” sheet of card stock paper cut in half across the short direction. This gives you two cards. Score the cards in half and fold. That’s it. There are many sources for A2 size envelopes.

I used the Creative Memories custom Cutting System Oval Set, the next to the smallest oval, the largest oval, my self healing cutting mat and the red and green cutting blades.

First, you cut an oval with the next to smallest oval on the outside with the green blade. Then without moving to oval, go around with the red blade. This will give you a thin oval ring. I made 5 of these.

I cut a piece of designer paper for the outside of the card from the music page and the inside from the Santa hat paper using the Christmas Spirit Collection. You could make this from any theme for any time of the year!

Next, using the inside of the largest oval and the red blade going through the front of the card so you can see the Santa hats inside. Using the repositionable tape runner, I applied the adhesive to the back of the thin rings to make a wreath around the oval in the front of the card.

I fussy cut a little bow and added some red jewels and an embellishment on the inside peeking through. Enjoy!
