Planning Your Holiday This Year

These days, I don’t know how I’d survive without a plan. What a crazy year 2020 has been. I think we are all ready for a little holiday cheer and I’m wanting to enjoy every minute of it! In fact, I’ve already started making cards, getting my December daily photo journal album ready and planning movies to watch, games to play and my gift list finalized.

A little planning ahead might calm any worries that come our way. I am afraid the items I want will be slow shipping or not available. This week, I am getting all of our favorite holiday foods written down and purchasing all the things that I can ahead of time to be sure our favorites will be here at home in these uncertain times. There is a designated drawer in the refrigerator and a shelf in the pantry ready to fill up.

I have been keeping busy while being at home more by crafting. Creating is great therapy! I’ve started making my cards and I’m loving making cute cards that hold gift cards because I can see we may be giving lots of them this year!

It’s time to get your craft supply list together. For card making, you can cut the cards from cardstock and purchase envelopes OR go the easy route and get a Creative Memories card set and make your own from a kit! There is a blank card set and an adorable easy to create Holiday Card Set that you can make quickly. The Holiday Card Set comes with everything except adhesive and you’ll definitely want regular and repositionable tape runners. The repositionable tape runners are perfect for tiny embellishments. You’ll run it over the back and wipe the excess off the front after applying it. It’s the best! The regular tape runner is good for the larger areas and areas that need a stronger hold.

One of my favorite things are foam squares. You can lift a sticker or embellishment to give some dimension to your tags, cards and scrapbook pages. So very cute! I raised the reindeer on foam squares in my card I made today. It will be your favorite, too!

You can decorate the plain card kit with designer paper, embellishments, stickers, stamps and hand drawing. I love the card I made above with the hand drawn wreath and elements from our Christmas Spirit Collection. Have fun being creative and here’s to a beautiful holiday 2020!

Here’s a list of things you’ll want on hand:

Cardstock and Envelopes OR a Creative Memories Holiday Card Kit (love. this.) or Blank Card Set

Journaling Pen

Regular Tape Runner and Repositionable Tape Runner

Foam Squares

If not using the Holiday Kit that’s all inclusive, you’ll need Designer Paper, Stickers and Embellishments
